Screen Brightness
Controls the backlight level of the touch screen.
UI Mode
This controls selects whether the full set of features should be available in the on-screen user interface, or only a subset of it.
In Reduced mode, the “While Active” tab is hidden from the Preset Editor, which means that LFOs and Envelopes are also hidden away. Likewise the Sequencer tab is hidden as well.
Further, advanced message settings, like Delays are also not visible.
Network
This section controls whether the Wifi radio is turned on or off, the current wireless connection, as well as lists the current IP addresses, both wireless and wired.
Removing a know network can done by tapping the trashcan icon in the list of connected networks.
External Control
Controlling Mortrix from other MIDI sources is enabled in this section.
First an option to listen for incoming PC messages on a specific channel and react to these by activating Scenes. Each scene has to be uniquely and explicitly mapped to a PC value in order to be activated by MIDI - This is defined inside the settings for each Scene.
This option is only relevant for Scene Mode and is ignored otherwise.
Second, an option to listen for incoming PC messages on a specific channel and react to these by activating Scenes inside the current Setlist. Scenes in the setlist are indexed sequentially following the Setlist configuration, so PC#0 to PC#127 activated Scene 1 to Scene 128 respectively.
This option is only relevant for Setlist Mode and is only effective when inside a Setlist.
Third, an option to listen for CC messages while in a Scene. CC messages can be used to activate and deactivate Preset inside the current Scene.
Presets are not uniquely mapped to CCs, but are sequentially indexed like so:
Page 1
CC0 | CC1 | CC2 |
CC3 | CC4 | CC5 |
Page 2
CC6 | CC7 | CC8 |
CC9 | CC10 | CC11 |
Page 3
CC12 | CC13 | CC14 |
CC15 | etc. | etc. |
CC values are mapped as follows:
CC Value | Effect |
0-63 | Deactivate Preset |
64-126 | Activate Preset |
127 | Trigger Long Press (if enabled) |
Examples:
In Scene Mode with External Control set to listen on MIDI channel 4, Activate Scene X mapped to PC#6:
Send PC#6 on Channel 4
In Setlist Mode, with an active Setlist and External Control set to listen on MIDI channel OMNI, Activate Scene number 6
Send PC#6 on any MIDI.
Activate Preset 3 (top right) in the first page of the current Scene
Send CC#2 with value 100.
Activate Preset 6 (bottom right) in the third page of the current Scene
Send CC#17 with value 100.
Deactivate Preset 3 (top right) in the first page of the current Scene
Send CC#2 with value 0.
MIDI
This section contains controls for:
Selecting between internal or external MIDI clock source.
Whether MIDI Transport (Start/Stop/Continue) should be sent, received, both or none
How and which MIDI data coming into Mortrix through should be forwarded to other ports.
Autoconnect USB MIDI Devices
Whether or not to automatically open MIDI connections to MIDI compliant USB devices when they are connected to the system (USB Host ports).
Connected USB devices and their MIDI connection state can be observed in the Device Browser.
Long Press Threshold
This defines how many milliseconds the system should wait, before a footswitch press should be considered a long press.
This is only relevant for presets that have the Long Press feature and message list activate in their settings.
Device Profiles
Update the collection of Device Profiles on your Mortrix. This requires a network connection (Wifi or LAN).
Device profiles can also be imported from a USB drive, but that is intended primarily for developers and beta testers of device profiles.
Software Update
This allows you to update the software on your Mortrix directly from the internet or from a USB drive (not common). Software updates are released with new features, fixes and other improvements from time to time. It is recommended to keep your software updated, but DO NOT update your system the night before an important gig or a big world tour. Not on Mortrix, not on anything else.
Backup
Backup and Restore all Scenes, Presets, Messages and other settings onto/from a FAT32 formatted USB drive.
Submit System Logs
This button will collect system information and logs and submit them to Mortrix servers for analysis. Please get in touch with support@mortrix.io if this might be necessary.
