The Performance Screen is the primary view for performing with MORTRIX. Here, we can see the Presets inside the current Scene, activate and deactivate them and control a number of other things as well.
Aside from Presets, the Performance Screen also display other useful bits of information:
The middle section of this screen contains various information and controls related to performing with Presets in this Scene.
Starting at the center of the screen we have the Scene name and number.
Long pressing the Scene name, will open a context menu with an option to renaming the Scene.
Right below this is a bar which displays the index/count and name of the current Page. Scenes can have multiple pages of Presets, each containing up to six tiles.
Initially a Scene will have a single page, but more pages can be added.
Long pressing the right navigation tile while at the last page will add a new page to the Scene
When more pages are added to the Scene, you can switch back and forth between the pages by tapping the left and right navigation tiles or pressing the corresponding footswitches.
Long pressing the left navigation tile exits Performance Screen and takes you back to the Scene browser.
In order to manage and keep track of you Scene pages, you can rename, duplicate and delete pages.
Long pressing the Page bar will bring up a context menu allowing you to rename, duplicate and delete pages.
Next to the Scene name is a Gear icon, which is a button that opens the Scene settings.
Finally the last piece of central information is the Tempo Tile, which shows the current tempo of the MIDI Clock.
Long pressing the Tempo Tile brings up an Overlay which allows you to set the tempo and start/stop the internal MIDI Clock using the touchscreen or the footswitches. The Tempo Overlay can also be activated by sending a Utility Message or Long Pressing a Tap Tempo tile.
Tapping the left navigation tile or pressing the left footswitch exits the Tempo Overlay and takes you back to the Performance Screen.
As mentioned in the Basic Walkthrough you can add Presets to tiles in a Scene, but you can also add other useful functions to tiles:
Linked Presets. That is, Presets from other Scenes can be included in this Scene as well. Linked Presets are references to Presets in other Scenes and are not being copied to this Scene.
Tap Tempo. A Tap Tempo tile, allows you to tap in the tempo you like the MIDI clock to run.
Stepper. This type of tile allows you to manually step through one or more Step Sequencers.
Start/Stop. This tile will let you start and stop the internal MIDI clock using a footswitch.
